Behind-the-mic at the EWVS 2025:

Matt Berthot (EMT), a small-town native from the Midwest, discovered his love for music early on. A proud father, he began his journey as a public school choir teacher, using music to instill confidence and connection in his students. Eventually, Matt expanded his classroom to the world. Today, he is dedicated to improving people’s connection, confidence, communication, and clarity, one voice at a time.

His passion for the voice is displayed through his podcast “Voice by Matt”, as an MC, speaker, and coach. Through his coaching, Matt empowers individuals and groups of people to harness the true power of their voice and encourage their soul to come out to say hello to the world!

“Have you ever seen a performance that moved you to tears — not because it was perfect, but because it was real? That’s what I chase as a teacher, a singer, and a coach” — he shared. In his session “Beyond the Notes: Finding Performance Magic Through Estill” at EWVS 2025 in Chicago, he’ll be sharing how the Estill model helped him crack open the voice — not just technically, but emotionally and spiritually. It is performance magic — the moment voice, story, and soul align.
