Why do you love Estill Voice Training? From the beginning, I was struck by the creativity and artistry of the Estill Mentors I learned from and by how they were able to apply detailed technical information to the pursuit of artistic expression and communication. This taught me invaluable lessons about the relationship between technique and art, which have guided my practice ever since.
I love the freedom and the versatility of the Model. I am able to see this every time I collaborate with other teachers with Estill qualifications and I see how each of us is able to express our own individuality in our teaching within a rigorous framework of competencies and willingness to learn more. I love that each Estill qualification is not an achievement that ends there but an incentive to learn more and challenge what we think on a daily basis.
Biggest professional challenge: The world of voice is so vast and sometimes my challenge is trying to avoid being limited by my own practice and continuing to learn more, from books, articles, conversations, but also from visits to museums, songs, novels, images, and anything that generates a spark of creativity or a new idea for an exercise. This is not easy when working within a drama school and its intense schedule.
People would be surprised to know: That, in full betrayal of Italian unspoken rules, I’ll be glad to have a cappuccino after 10 AM and pineapple on my pizza.
