What made you decide to become an EMCI? I had applied Estill Voice Training® for such a long time as a professional opera singer, voice teacher and choral conductor that it seemed completely natural to take my work to the next level. I also felt compelled to further deepen my knowledge of Estill Voice Training® because I simply LOVE how it has the power to help and transform all voices.

Can you share a little bit about the process of becoming an EMCI? Becoming an EMCI has been the most inspiring, challenging and rewarding experience I’ve ever had! Huge thanks to my mentor, Mary McDonald Klimek EMCI-ATP SD, for her endless patience, encouragement and generosity through all the ups and downs of this incredibly enriching process.

What do you want to do with your EMCI certification? I’m passionate about sharing Jo Estill’s life-changing work with as many people as possible. It completely transformed me as a performer and gave me craft I can rely on even on a “bad day”. That’s super important when you’re putting yourself out there!

Any advice for future EMCIs? Go for it! And take your time. There is lots and lots of study and reflection involved on all aspects of voice, so for me it was important to live with the information and incorporate it as an integral part of my ongoing work with singers and speakers.
