Behind the Words: Meet the Team Who Helped Bring the 3rd Edition of EVT® to Life

By Estill Voice International | July 16, 2026

This summer marks an exciting milestone for the global Estill community with the launch of the 3rd Edition of the Estill Voice Training® Level 1 & Level 2 Workbooks, along with an updated Course Instruction Manual and refreshed presentation slides.

These new resources reflect Estill’s continued commitment to accessible, science-informed voice education. Behind every page is an international team of dedicated Estill trainers and staff who worked tirelessly to ensure these materials remain accurate, consistent, and meaningful for learners around the world.

We are proud to recognize the translators who made this project possible: Yuliya Strok, Patrik Thurner, Elisabetta Rosa, Alizia Romero, & Maude Payette Beauchesne

The project was led by Corinne Mager, Director of Certification & Courses at Estill Voice International, who served as Project Manager and a lead English editor. Working alongside Corinne was Alona Kononchuk, EVI’s Administrative & Support Specialist, whose contributions included translation support, editing, document layout, formatting, quality assurance, and countless behind-the-scenes details that helped bring these new materials to life.

A Shared Commitment

Translating Estill Voice Training® is about far more than converting words from one language into another. It means preserving the scientific precision, educational philosophy, and shared vocabulary that connect the global Estill community.

That passion is reflected in the translators’ own words.

“My favorite part was ensuring that the Spanish version was as faithful, precise, and rigorous as possible… carefully choosing words that would be easy to understand while remaining true to Estill Voice International’s innovative philosophy.”
Alizia Romero

For Alizia, translation was an opportunity not only to preserve meaning, but to help shape terminology that will support Spanish-speaking learners for years to come.

Likewise, Yuliya Strok found the project brought together two lifelong passions.

“I’ve been teaching singing for over 10 years, but my first degree is in translation. I never imagined these two skills could come together so perfectly. It was a true honor to help capture all the details of EVT as accurately as possible.”
Yuliya Strok

For Patrik Thurner, every word mattered.

“Precise wording is incredibly important. The words we choose shape realities and help learners understand complex concepts. ‘Talking the Estill Talk’ gives us a shared vocabulary that can transform both our ears and our voices.”
Patrik Thurner

He also reflected on one of the unexpected rewards of the project:

“Digging deep into the materials again and finding new aspects every time and making the work of Jo Estill accessible to a bigger group of people.”
Patrik Thurner

For Elisabetta Rosa, the project offered an opportunity to experience the evolution of the curriculum firsthand.

“The awareness that the workbooks were renewed and, in some way, simplified, also thanks to the adoption of Foundations.”
Elisabetta Rosa

Each translator brought not only language expertise, but also years of experience teaching Estill Voice Training®, helping ensure that learners around the world can engage with these materials in ways that feel both natural and true to Jo Estill’s original vision.

The release of the 3rd Edition represents more than updated educational materials—it represents the strength of a worldwide community working together to make exceptional voice education accessible across cultures and languages.
