Course Description

Level 2: Figure Combinations for Six Voice Qualities™ is for anyone who has completed Level 1 and would like to take their skills further. This course is ideal for singers, actors, vocal coaches, drama instructors, speech-language pathologists, and other vocal health professionals.

Resource Fee including PDF version of Level 2 Workbook, supporting materials, customer service and the Certificate of Attendance is payable to Estill Voice International at the time of registration: $35.00 USD (new and returning students).

Level 2 builds on the knowledge and skills from Level 1 by asking participants to combine different Figure options into"recipes” for six basic voice qualities - Speech, Falsetto, Twang, Sob, Opera, and Belt. Level 2 gives you a better understanding of the human voice’s limitless possibilities, along with how to keep it vibrant and healthy. This live course includes:

  • Level 2 Workbook™, supporting handouts

  • Introduction to Figure Combinations for Six Voice Qualities™

  • Vocal exercises for range, strength, clarity, and stamina

  • Large and small group learning and discussions

  • Masterclass/open coaching sessions for repertoire or case studies

By the end of this course, you should be able to:

  1. Describe the structural, acoustic, and functional characteristics of each Estill Voice Quality 
  2. Explain the physiology of the conditions of the larynx and vocal tract and the location of effort in production 
  3. Assess the usefulness of each voice quality in speech and singing 
  4. Integrate Voice Qualities into drama, music, or voice therapy applications;
  5. Record & analyze samples of Voice Qualities using state-of-the-art voice technology.

Content Disclosure: This course will focus exclusively on Estill Voice Training®; other similar programs will not be discussed. This course will also have a special focus on Estill in the choral context.

A Level 2 Certificate of Attendance will be issued upon completion of this Level 2 Course. This certificate is one of the requirements for Trainer Certification in Estill Voice Training®.

To obtain ASHA's CEU's:

  • Attend both days of the live course (January 18-19, 2025)
  • Complete the course evaluation

Cancellation and Refund Policy:

In the event this course is canceled by the instructors, a full refund of the course fee will be given to all participants. In lieu of a refund, participants may choose to reserve their place at a future course with Dr. Kimberly Steinhauer. Participant cancellations will receive a full refund of the course fee up to two months prior to the start of the course. Within two months of the course start, participants may receive a 50% refund of the course fee or may transfer their registration to a future course with Dr. Steinhauer. No refunds for participant cancellations will be given after January 3, 2025 (2 weeks prior to course start). Access to Foundations of Estill Voice Training in the Online Academy is unlimited and the fee is non-refundable. The EVI Resources Fee is non-refundable. Voiceprint is non-returnable, non-refundable.
