Solving Vocal Problems Through Estill Voice Training:: Strategies for Teaching High Notes and Belting for Beginners to Professionals
This hands-on workshop uses the Estill Voice Training framework to tackle two of the most common and challenging problems faced by singers and voice teachers: accessing reliable high notes and developing safe, sustainable belting. Through demonstration, guided listening, and participation, you will explore the structural causes of vocal problems and discover practical Estill-based strategies to solve them - in your own voice and in your students'.
Whether you are new to Estill or an experienced practitioner, this session offers immediate, applicable tools. Beginners will gain a clear and embodied introduction to key EVT structures. Professionals will deepen their diagnostic skills and expand their teaching toolkit.
Topics include: Cricoid Tilt as the physiological foundation of Belt; the role of Thyroid Cartilage Tilt in extending range and adding sweetness and vibrato; False Vocal Fold retraction as the basis of free, sustainable tone; anchoring as the source of power and endurance; and a three-step problem-solving framework you can take straight back to the studio.

This Special Topic Workshop is designed to make connections from Estill Voice Training® principles and exercises to other voice specialties and professions. This tailored introductory experience may focus on a specific audience or an advanced deeper dive into EVT® for Level 1 & 2 course participants or certification candidates.
