Record & Play
Click the red circle button to begin recording your voice. As you speak or sing, the spectrogram will move from left to right, displaying your voice in real time. When you’re finished, click the white square button to stop recording. You can then review your recording by pressing the play button, which allows you to listen while watching your acoustic patterns appear on screen.
Saving your Voiceprint
To save your recording, click the file icon on the right-hand menu. A pop-up window will appear asking, “What would you like to name your file?” Enter a descriptive name for your recording in the text box provided. Then, choose where you’d like to save it:
- Local System – saves the file directly to your computer.
- My Library – stores the file within Estill Voiceprint for easy access later.
Once you’ve entered your name and selected the save location, click OK to confirm. Your voiceprint will now be stored and ready to reopen for playback, analysis, or comparison in future sessions.
Library (Load from Inventory)
To open a saved recording, click the folder (Open File) icon on the right-hand menu. You’ll be prompted to choose where to load your file from — either My Library or Local System. Select My Library to access recordings you’ve previously saved within Estill Voiceprint, or choose Local System to open a file from your computer. Please note that locally loaded files must be in .wav format and under 60 seconds in length. Once selected, your voiceprint will appear on screen, ready for playback and detailed acoustic analysis.
Full Screen View
To view your display in full screen, click the four arrows (expand) icon on the right-hand menu. This enlarges the Voiceprint window to fill your screen, allowing you to analyze your recording without distractions. Full Screen Mode provides a clearer view of all graphs and widgets, making it easier to focus on fine acoustic details and real-time visual feedback.
Intensity Gain
Click the upward arrow (Intensity Gain) icon to increase the brightness and contrast of your display. This adjustment enhances how clearly your spectrogram or waveform appears but does not affect your microphone input or recording volume. For optimal results, keep your waveform levels between the bright guiderail lines (minimum) and the lighter guiderail lines (maximum) to maintain accurate and readable visuals.
Clear View
Click the paintbrush (Clear View) icon to remove recordings from the current display. This action clears the screen so you can start a new recording or analysis with a clean workspace. Before deleting, the program will ask whether you’d like to save your current file, ensuring that no data is lost accidentally.
