Paul is a freelance vocal coach working in the North of England with a successful, well-established, private practice.
Following on from his degree in Music, Paul studied for an MA in Popular Music at Liverpool University before completing a PGCE and dedicating himself to a very enjoyable decade of classroom teaching. During this period Paul’s busy performing life took him into roles where he worked with singers as an MD, accompanist and arranger. Estill Voice Craft opened Paul’s eyes to the way in which the voice works and working with singers became the sole focus of his career; a deep love for this kind of work was ignited and both EFP and EMT status were attained.
With over 25 years of experience as a musician, Paul has collected and honed a wide range of performing and production skills in spoken voice, Musical Theatre, Pop, Rock, Opera and Jazz. His work as a teacher and pedagogue has seen him design and deliver courses for Colleges and Universities whilst individual coaching and consulting in studios, theatres and rehearsal rooms has indulged his passion for precise technical and artistic development which is specific to the individual.
Paul is in demand and works frequently with touring/performing professionals to help them develop their craft and strategy for delivering high quality output over multiple repetitions. His services are available to anyone who wishes to learn how to express themselves vocally and find joy through control and artistry - not just those at the sharp end of the industry.
Paul is an intuitive coach who is innovative and progressive. His studio work, often accompanied by much joy and laughter, is designed to liberate the learner so they can become independent and learn how to take control of their own vocal expression.
