Lily Dahab herself and her vita seem like a perfect example for a life with no labels or borders. Born and grown up in Buenos Aires where she did her studies, then continues her professional Musical theatre career in Madrid and Barcelona. She is drawn to roles portraying strong women in the original spanish versions, playing Grizabella in “Cats”, Belle in “Beauty and the Beast”, or Esmeralda in “The Notredame of Paris” among others.
Since 2007 she is based in Berlin. Together with her husband, pianist Prof. Bene Aperdannier, she begins to realise her very own artistic visions, starting a new successful chapter in the World jazz music scene where she composes and produces 3 albums: “nómade” (2010, Peregrina Records), nominated to “Best world music album” by the German critic association (Preis der Deutschen Shallplattenkritik), “Huellas” & “Bajo un mismo cielo” (2013/ 2018, Herzog Records) were chosen as “CD of the week” by the national german radios SWR and RBB. She actively tours in jazzfestivals, theatres and jazz clubs around Germany and Europe.
Since 2022 and 2023 she performs at the Berliner Philharmonie together with her quintet and Orchestra her own music.
Parallel to her singing career she was always fascinated by the First Instrument, “The voice” this took her to make the step to go into the path of becoming an Estill Voice Trainer in English and Spanish, which she is working towards under the expert guidance of Prof. Anne-Marie Speed, founder of and Director of The Voice Explained and Alizia Romero as second mentor.
