Soprano Amy Stabnau has had an active career in singing and teaching, ranging from opera, oratorio, and contemporary classical music in her singing to classical, Broadway and pop in her teaching. Amy has toured with Opera Theatre of Pittsburgh, has sung with companies and orchestras in the US and Europe, and has sung world premieres of works by Scottish composer, Alastair Stout. She is currently the Soprano Soloist at Smithfield United Church in Pittsburgh and sings with the Pittsburgh Opera. Amy’s teaching career includes the Pittsburgh Creative and Performing Arts High School, Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera Academy of Musical Theatre, and Point Park University. Currently, she teaches voice privately and at St. Mary’s College of California. Amy’s students have gone on to perform on Broadway, national tours, Carnegie Hall, opera, TV, and film. Her students have won Gene Kelly Awards, gone to the Jimmy Awards, progressed to the finals of the TV show, The Voice and have performed with pop artists such as Lourdes, Melissa Ethridge, Willy Nelson and Brandi Carlile at Coachella and other festivals. Amy is a graduate of Carnegie-Mellon University, Accademia Vocale di Lucca, the Goethe Institut and is currently an EMT in Estill Voice.
