Anna Mateo has broad teaching experience alongside a career as a singer across the genres of musical theatre and classical singing. She has also worked regularly as a session singer for TV and radio.

Anna is currently a Singing Lecturer at the Musical theatre department at the Institute of the Arts Barcelona and has previously taught both technical singing and acting through song at Bird College and Urdang Academy in London as well as running her own private studio in West London.

Originally from Barcelona, Anna obstained her classical singing diploma at conservatoire before she relocated to the UK in 2004 and graduated from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama with a MA in Performance ( Musical Theatre).

Highly experienced in musical theatre, she has performed in the West End stages in the last revival of “Evita” at the Adelphi Theatre, “Zorro, the musical” at the Garrick Theatre where she covered and played the role of Inez and workshoped “Lend me a tenor”.

Anna was part of the cast of the Barbican/Theatre Stratford East production of John Adams “I was looking at the ceiling and then I saw the sky” where she played Consuelo and this resulted in an invitation to sing the role of Maria in “West Side Story” as a soloist with the Liverpool Phillarmonic Orchestra. In Spain she has also performed Bernstein’s repertoire as Paquette in “Candide”at Teatros del Canal in Madrid, soloist of World without end at “The Bernstein’s Mass” at l’Auditori in Barcelona and in zarzuela she played Lota at “la Corte del faraon” and as ensemble/cover Mary Patrick in “Sister Act, the musical”. She is currently performing in the show "Operetta!" and "Allegro" with sporadic performances in france and Sweetzeland.
