Marie-Catherine Bouchard has held a master's degree in jazz-pop vocal instruction from Laval University since 2015. She completed a bachelor's degree in jazz-pop vocal performance at Laval University in 2011. She began her vocal studies at Campus Notre-Dame-de-Foy, where she completed a course in popular and jazz vocal technique in 2008. In 2012, Marie-Catherine took an intensive summer musical theater course at Berklee College of Music.

Marie-Catherine is certified as an Estill Mentor and Course Instructor, a certification in the Estill Voice Training model, which ranks her among the most renowned and competent voice coaches. She is the second French-speaking person worldwide to obtain this certification. She discovered the Estill Voice Training model in 2011. She obtained her certification as an Estill Voice Training certified coach in 2017. This certification led her to teach small groups in several training courses in Quebec and abroad, to accompany several artists in their vocal training, and to offer several workshops to introduce the Estill Voice Training model. In 2025, she obtained her certification as a course instructor and mentor after six years of study and 14 years of working with the model.

Marie-Catherine is an experienced singing teacher who has been teaching singing at the Cégep level (First and second years of University in Quebec city) for over 10 years. Since 2017, she has been a full-time jazz-pop singing teacher at Cégep de Ste-Foy in Quebec City. In 2013, Marie-Catherine joined the faculty of the music department at Cégep de Trois-Rivières, where she worked until 2017. Since 2007, Marie-Catherine has also been teaching individual and group lessons, group workshops, voice coaching, conferences, etc. She also taught musical theater for seven years at the Maîtrise des petits chanteurs de Québec, as well as 11 years at the Arquemuse music school.

Marie-Catherine performs as a jazz and popular singer at various events, concerts, and in a variety of formats. She has participated in the Quebec City jazz festival “Jazz en juin” in 2025, “Jazz'Art” in 2024, and others. For over 10 years, she has been performing in a tribute to the singer Barbara throughout Quebec City, including at the Espace Félix-Leclerc, the Maison Hamel-Bruneau, the Petit Théâtre de Québec, and others. She also performs in a tribute to Sylvain Lelièvre, which was heard in Parcours Volatil for the inauguration of the Maison de la littérature, among other places. She is regularly hired as a freelance singer by various organizations for various events. She also represented Quebec in the “Boule à neige” in Brussels in 2014. She released her first album of covers of songs by singer Barbara, “La Tulipe noire – Reprises de Barbara,” in February 2021. Her second album is currently in production and will be released in 2026.

As a vocal director and coach, she has had the pleasure of working with several artists on various cultural projects. She was the vocal director for the musical Cabaret, performed at the Le Trident theater in 2022. Among other things, she participated in the summer theater project “Les inséparables” presented at La Roche à Veillon in 2019, the BBQ project at the Carrefour international de théâtre in 2017, the “Chante en français” project at École secondaire La Cité, and the final theater project for students at the Conservatoire d'art dramatique de Québec. She was also the musical director for the inauguration of the Maison de la littérature.
